Stanford Football
As the baseball season goes down, football is coming back in full. However, I noticed that 49ers ticket prices have soared compared to last year, which made me hesitant to plan a trip to Levi's Stadium. Around that time, I discovered a promotion offering $4 tickets for Stanford college football. Having never watched a college football game before, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try—especially since Stanford University is just a 10-minute drive from my home.
When I found out where the parking lot was, I was curious, as I remembered that area being just a forest—and it was. The general parking for the game was just in the middle of the college forest. There were no lines or paved sections, but I quickly realized it was the ideal spot for tailgating.
The football stadium itself was nestled within a hill. As we walked through a tunnel, we emerged into a massive stadium—much larger than I had anticipated. It seemed bigger than any soccer stadium I’d seen in Korea, and with over 50,000 seats, it was certainly impressive.
The stadium's facilities were impressive, with plenty of concessions offering a variety of culinary options, and the quality of the food was excellent. However, one downside was the lack of tables for eating and resting inside the stadium, which made it a bit inconvenient.
The game itself was exciting, and I was pleasantly impressed by how enjoyable college football can be. The atmosphere was also great with a lot of fans. However, we made one mistake—choosing seats on the visitor's side, which meant sitting in direct sunlight during a 4 p.m. game. It was scorching, so we eventually moved to the shaded corridor to escape the heat. During halftime, we discovered a lawn area at the top of the stadium, perfect for relaxing and spending time with family.
Whether it’s for the excitement of the games, the lively atmosphere, or simply a relaxing family weekend afternoon, this is a place I’ll definitely return to. Having such a high-quality venue just minutes away is great, offering a perfect balance of fun and convenience.
