Giants 2024
Finally, it is baseball season again. The Giants bolstered more arsenals right before the season's start. As a Giants 2024 season ticket holder, I found myself at the ballpark on both Sunday (with my family) and Monday (alone). There's something magical about being there, but this year felt uniquely special, likely due to the "Grandson of the Wind's" presence. I purchased his jersey, and it was my first time buying the team's jersey despite already owning a huge collection of other Giants apparel.
Though the Giants didn't clinch victories on those days, Jung Hoo Lee was the silver lining. It wasn't just my sentiment; fans everywhere were chanting "Lee-Jung-Hoo" or "Jung-Hoo-Lee," turning him into the talk of the town. Even restroom conversations praised his performance. While walking back to the Caltrain station after the game, I found myself gesturing towards the "51" on my jersey as fans called out his name, a testament to his impact.
While I'm a fan of almost all major U.S. sports (NHL being the exception), baseball holds a special place in my heart. Attending 49ers or Warriors games (in person) is always a treat, yet those feel like very special events. In contrast, Giants games at Oracle Park have become a staple of my life, seamlessly blending into my daily routine. The convenience of heading to the park after work, thanks to my office's proximity to the Redwood City Caltrain station, turns it into an 'ordinary' joy. This routine is something I cherish deeply. I love this normalcy and love this team so much.
